When is Check in Time?

Check in is 4pm, after the home has been thoroughly cleaned and prepared for you. Check in with our Front Desk Team in our lobby office located at 105 Shell Drive Watsonville, CA on the Shorebirds Property. Please call us if you will be arriving after hours. If you are checking in after our reception office closes, your key packet will be delivered to the corresponding gatehouse and their team will help direct you to your vacation home. Shorebirds Gatehouse is located at 101 Shell Drive. The South Gatehouse for Cypress, Beach Houses, and Pelican Point homes is located at 2661 Beach Road. If you’d like for us to arrange for Key Packet Pick Up at the South Gatehouse, please arrange with our Front Desk team.

How do I request an early check in or late check out with the resort?

Arriving early? You have two options for early check-in! Relax on the beach when you arrive, and we’ll call your cell phone as soon as the home is ready. If you’d like to arrange an early arrival at 12 PM without paying for an extra night, we offer an early check-in for $75 per condo or $150 per house or townhome. This fee covers the cost of additional staff to clean and service the home. This option can be arranged within 3 days before your arrival, based on staff availability and homeowner stays.

When is Check Out Time?

Check Out is 12pm. If an extension of this time is needed, please check with the Front Desk for more information. We may be able to arrange a complimentary late out until 1pm based on availability. If you would like to stay later, we offer a late check out until 2:30pm, $75 per condo or $150 per house or townhome. To avoid any extra cleaning fees, please call our office or see the back of your key packet for more information about our check out procedures. Please make sure to remove all garbage to outside waste & recycling bins. Should you need luggage assistance or trash pickup, our team is happy to help, please call and we’ll be happy to make arrangements.

How do I receive the Rate Specials that are advertised on the website?

The rates on our website do not reflect available specials. We’ll apply these discounts when we confirm your stay by phone. Our “3 Nights for the Price of Two” special gives you a complimentary third night (tax does apply). Even if you don’t plan to stay a third night, this special allows you to enjoy the beach and home all day and depart at your convenience instead of by noon! Each homeowner chooses which specials they participate in, so give us a call if you’d like more information.

What are the Amenities provided?

Tennis at Our Resort
Enjoy a game of tennis at our resort, where courts are conveniently located on both sides of the property. We offer complimentary equipment for our guests, so you can play without any hassle. Courts can be reserved in advance to ensure you get your preferred time. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking to have some fun, our well-maintained courts provide the perfect setting for a match.

Pickleball at Our Resort
Discover the excitement of pickleball at our resort, with courts conveniently situated on both sides of the property. We provide complimentary gear for our guests, making it easy to jump into a game. Pickleball is often considered easier than tennis due to its smaller court size, lighter paddles, and slower ball speed, making it accessible for players of all ages and skill levels. You can reserve the courts in advance to secure your preferred time. Whether you’re an experienced player or new to the sport, our newly added courts offer the ideal setting for a fun match.

Wildlife Wonders
Our lagoons are a haven for ducks and seabirds! You can purchase birdseed at the gatehouse for just $1, but please refrain from feeding them anything else to ensure their health. Keep an eye out for egrets, pelicans, snowy plovers, and more along the beach and in the lagoons. Snowy plovers, in particular, nest in the sand dunes, so be mindful of their habitat. Don’t miss the bird sanctuary at Pelican Point. Additionally, whales, sea lions, and dolphins are frequently spotted off our coast!

Volleyball Fun
Whether you prefer playing on the beach or the lawns, we’ve got you covered! Just give us a call, and we’ll set up a net for you. For those who love the feel of sand between their toes, there’s also a dedicated sand court on the south side of the property. Enjoy a game of volleyball in your favorite setting!

Scenic Walking Paths at Pajaro Dunes Resort
Discover the beauty of Pajaro Dunes Resort through its scenic walking paths. Begin around the tranquil lagoon to admire the bird fauna and quiet serenity. Wander through the shaded Cypress trees and admire the unique beach homes along the coast and Pajaro River. Finally, enjoy the stunning beachfront views as you access miles of pristine beach, perfect for spotting dolphins, sea lions, whales or while collecting sand dollars and seashells on the shore.

How do I reserve S’mores and a Bonfire on the Beach?

For a memorable evening, enjoy a beach bonfire at Pajaro Dunes Resort! Call our front desk between 9am and 2pm for same-day service. All bonfires are first come, first serve, and sales are final. Our team will deliver the propane bonfire for $75 to your vacation rental. Ask about our S’mores kits! Wood burning bonfire rings are located at the Shorebirds & Public Beach Access area and managed by the State Park. Wood is available in our Gift Store for purchase, or our team can deliver the wood to your vacation rental. Individual wood burning bonfires are not allowed in any other pit or directly on the sand due to safety concerns; this is enforced by the State Park Beach Rangers. Bonfires are not available from November 15th to March 15th due to the nesting of snowy plovers, unpredictable weather, and high tide.

Do you have Electric Charging Stations?

Yes, there are 2 EV Charging Station locations at Pajaro Dunes, one on the Shorebirds Property and another on the Pajaro Dunes South Property. The Shorebirds EV charging stations are situated in the lower parking lot of Building D at 101 Shell Drive. The Pajaro Dunes South Property EV charging stations are located in the parking lot in front of the Pajaro Dunes Fire Station at 2661 Beach Road. Both Charging Station locations are part of the ChargePoint network and offer two dual-port EV charging stations (four charging lanes)! To use the charging stations, download the free ChargePoint app from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Charging Rates vary by time of day, allowing the use of lower PG&E special rates. Refer to the instructions at the charging station and app for more details. To maximize availability, plan to move your EV within 30 minutes after charging to avoid an “over-stay” fee.

Do you allow dogs at the resort?

Our homes are not pet friendly. Our resort is a part of 4 different homeowner’s associations that only allow homeowners and their family to bring pets on property. We do comply with ADA guidelines in regards to service animals. Emotional Support Animals (ESA) are not ADA animals and cannot stay on property. Please call the resort with any questions related to service animals as our HOAs do require certain documentation before the service animal is allowed on property.

What is your Resort and Service Fee and why do you charge it?

Pajaro Dunes Resort offers a great number of services. Unlike typical vacation rentals where you pick up a key and are on your own, we are here for you! In our Lobby, you will find free sports equipment for playing tennis, basketball, pickle ball, boogie boards, sand toys and much more; a free DVD video library for family movies, daily morning newspaper, coffee service in our lobby every day, luggage assistance, and vacation rental supplies. We also assure on site staff are here 7 days a week for maid service requests, maintenance trouble shooting and repairs and guest services. When needed, we send staff out after hours for serious emergencies. All of our homes are equipped with High Speed WiFi throughout the resort and free on property parking, access to EV Charging stations on both sides of the resort. Our HOA Gatehouses provides service and property security 24 hours a day. The HOAs take care of the landscaping, boardwalks, pathways, and weekly garbage and recycling. Our Home Inspectors complete arrival checks to make sure every home is cleaned & sanitized thoroughly and that all appliances and home is ready. Should you happen to find anything out of order or missed, please contact us and we’d be happy to help you. Upon your departure, we also check for any items you may have left behind by mistake. Our fees help ensure your experience is truly memorable and contribute to creating a lasting tradition here on the Monterey Bay at Pajaro Dunes Resort.
